Politicians will be asking for your vote for parish and statewide offices.

But will they fight for you to stop the container terminal?

We asked all the candidates to pledge to oppose the Port of New Orleans from developing their proposed massive container terminal in our parish and further promise, if elected, to continue to fight against its funding and construction.

The Committee gave each of the candidates for state and local offices representing St. Bernard Parish a deadline of Aug. 18 by which to sign the pledge. The Committee can not confirm the position of those who did not pledge as of Aug. 22, only that it has not received their pledge. The Committee is not endorsing any candidates; rather, the organization is making the information on each candidate available to voters.
